Product details
Coconut coir bricks are composed of three different types of compressed coconut coir. This high quality, low sodium growing medium is an environmentally friendly alternative to sphagnum peat moss. When hydrated with water, bricks and blocks rapidly expand which saves you time and effort. They can be exclusively used by themselves, blended together or mixed with expanded clay pellets, perlite or topsoil. The brick will break down on its own in three years. Better still, you can run it through a chipper and amend your soil with it. Incredibly strong, it makes a better candidate for use with enzyme products that convert roots to biomass.

Coconut coir.
The package weighs 11 pounds. It measures 12 inches by 12 inches by 6 in. Approximately. The contents are ground coconut fibers, not coconut chips. The image on the page is somewhat deceiving from what I received but it is somewhat similar in style. It was vacuum sealed and in really great condition when it arrives. I can't wait to get things planted into it.

Good seed starter/mixer
Bagged garden soil is not what it used to be even though the price keeps going up! This product comes in a compressed brick and you add water to expand it. I put mine in a large plastic container and added 5 gallons of water. It was amazing how much soil it produced. I mix it with the garden soil I use and I put a thin layer on top of seeds. So far it's been a good product. It does help hold water so don't overwater your plants. Also remember to fertilize your plants.
