someone gave me this trimmer, they gave up on it to soon. . i am a small engine mechanic , classic chainsaw fanatic. . 90% of equipment failure is fuel related issues, the other 9 % is operator error. the last 1% is manufacture defect. i can take any piece of equipment no matter how bad you say its junk and have it running better than your new piece of equipment and stay running for years to come. Why and how you say? First thing is to remember is ETHANOL is your enemy. Its dose not matter what brand of equipment you have , if you let ol Ethy marinate in your carburetor for weeks on end , and through the winter. it will not start guaranteed . its ok to use pump gas with Ol Ethy, as long as you use it up quickly, for storing purposes , use a non ethanol gas Pre-mixed . I use VP racing fuels , it is the best , has been for many moons . If you cant get that find a STHIL dealer use there MOTO MIX 50:1 its ok. Some people like to think that a fuel treatment is going to fix the problem , like seafoam, lucas . The problem is , that the Ethanol is there to stay it cant go no where,but turn bad. Cause! its corn juice, rotten corn juice after 3-4 weeks , like our food in our refrigerators. Now Operator ERROR!! If you dont know what your doing and are to dumb or cocky to ask someone , then god bless you , See yah at the spring sale. clean your equipment as often as you can check your filter,and lubricants , and you and your equipment should live happily ever after.
