Had to cut to fit

I measured 10cm/5 screw holes accurately and this was the correct size, but it still did not fit. When I lined up the 5 holes with those on the crankset, the recessed section did not line up with the pedal arm. This entire cover needed to be rotated an inch or so to line up with the pedal arm, but then the screw holes were in the wrong place. Walmart refunded my purchase but said I did not have to return the product. At that point, I decided to cut a section out with a hack saw so that it would fit around the pedal arm instead of under it. That worked. My bicycle brand is Specialized.
