Neo & SCI Chemical & Mechanical Weathering of Rocks Lab

What impact do chemicals and the elements have on rocks. Your students will observe the action and rate of such chemical weathering processes as oxidation, carbonation and acidity. They'll also gain insight into the relationship environmental factors such as temperature and abrasion have with rocks. Their investigations will reveal what factors most influence chemical and mechanical weathering. In the process, they will determine which rock types are affected the most by each of these processes and, conversely, which chemicals and elements have the greatest impact on the rocks.
