SVS Prime Bookshelf, Reference Speaker, 1" Aluminum Tweeter, 6.5" Woofer - Pair - Piano Gloss Black

We have a secondary sound system in the master bedroom, nothing fancy to be sure, some of what is there was bought at a yard sale but turned out to be fairly decent equipment, especially for the money. Its a smallish 43" TV connected to 100 wpc Kenwood amplifier. And its pretty old since its the original Dolby surround format. But the main channels are 100 wpc and it sounds quite good. So I hooked up the Ultra evolution Bookshelfs to it and kicked back and watched a movie or two...then listened to some music...they are not fatiguing to listen to at all, I love the detailed high end of these speakers and midrange is pretty darn good, intelligibility is quite good, the low end has a good mid-bass bump in the response which makes it punchy and pretty good without a sub, but then I turned on the subs and adjusted the levels to get a good blend and that really stepped the overall presentation up to a place I was pretty happy with overall. You can have a satisfying listening experience with these speakers without a sub, but on some program material you will notice the lack of deep extension, which is to be expected. You can't get 20 Hz bass out of a 6 1/2" driver. All in all I would say they are very good product at a fair price. Worth the money for sure.
