In this section the author shows the reader early life and thought, the giants of those days, and improvements and progress. Also included are some biographies and a section entitled "Raleigh the Capital Village." The book then leads on to the county's middle days, starting around the 1840s. Within this section the author tells about the benefactors of the county and distinguished visitors to the county. In closing the book takes a look at the county's later days, showing the progress that has been made within the county and bringing the reader into the early 1900s.
