Best math book available

This book was written to help those in the trades to learn/remember/find solutions to common and obscure problems that come up in a days work. From reading a tape measure (you'd be surprised how may people really don't know how to use one!) to the trig involved in laying out complicated rafters, to calculating gear ratios - its all in here and more. This is the way math should be taught in schools. Chenier gives the problem, shows every step in finding the solution - (without a calculator!); how to prove the results, then explains how to apply it.The end result is you really understand how to solve the given and similar problems. This has been a lifesaver to many that I have worked with over the years and I will buy several at a time to give to new and seasoned tradesmen alike. I highly recommend it for any school students that have trouble with math. I wish I had it when I was in school. But I've got one now!

Print way too small

This is a very good math text book. The material is presented in an easy to understand format. The down side is the size of the print. It is so small that some people (those with eye problems and seniors) need a magnifying glass to read the book. Also, the companion workbook "Practical Math Application Guide" should be offered as well. Possibly as a set. I had to go to Amazon.com to buy the workbook seperately.
