So good! Hard to put down

I was dying for this book to come out. Whenever I pick up a book by Dani Pettrey I know I am in for a one of a kind ride and I can't wait to get started. Blind Spot is the third book in the Chesapeake Valor series. The Chesapeake Valor Series follows a group of best friends that have known each other since they were kids. They each have special skills, and when brought together can solve almost anything. When the fate of our country is at risk, the stakes are at an all time high. Not only do they need to use every skill they have, but they need to figure it out fast. When murder strikes close to home, what they thought they knew was tested. Can they uncover what seems nearly impossible before it's too late? I had so much fun reading this book. I love the way the characters work together and have learned to read each other. Saying I'm dying to read the next book might be a understatement. I loved the way this story ended and can't wait to meet with the team again. I first met Declan and Tanner in the earlier books and was hoping they would end up together. You don't need to read the other books in this series to enjoy this one. But I'm betting once you read this one you'll be anxious to hear more about these amazing characters. I received a copy of this book and was in no way forced to publish an honest review. All opinions expressed are my own.

Action-packed ride!

Blind Spot is the third book in the Chesapeake Valor series by Dani Pettrey. Although it can be read as a stand alone novel, I would definitely recommend reading Cold Shot and Still Life first. This is because one of the things I have come to expect and appreciate from a Dani Pettrey novel are her interwoven characters with complex relationships. If you start with Blind Spot, you'll miss out on some of the characters histories. When you start Blind Spot, make sure you have some time to read because it is an action-packed ride from beginning to end. What keeps the reader intrigued is the fact that there are two plots going on throughout the story that involve solving a murder and trying to stop a terrorist plot. Declan, an FBI agent, and Tanner, a crisis counselor, are in the race of their lives trying to squelch this terrorist plot. As you would expect from any great romantic suspense novel, the reader stays on the edge of her seat turning the pages with motorcycle chases and bullets flying while also enjoying just the right amount of romance and the reader gets to see the relationship developing between Declan and Tanner. Blind Spot ends with quite a cliffhanger! Book 4 can't come quickly enough! I was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Usually the best book of the series is the first. The first book in this series, Cold Shot, was very good and the second book, Still Life, was good too but I think this third book is my favorite. I've been thinking about why and I have decided it is because I have come to know the characters better and the underlying story has developed to the point that I can't stand to put it down. I'm a fan of Dani Pettrey's writing so I knew the suspense element would be good but I believe she's taken her talent for leaving the reader wondering what's next to a whole new level. There is a cliff-hanger at the end of this book that is almost not fair. When I turned that final page I couldn't believe she would torture us so! But of course that's the sign of a good writer's ability to keep the reader wanting more. After reading Blind Spot I was wishing that I had the discipline to wait to start the series until it was entirely written. But of course I can't! The minute I know the book has been released I want it in my hands. If you enjoy a good dose of suspense sprinkled with some swoon-worthy romance then Dani Pettrey and this series particularly are worth your time. I can't wait for the next book and I think you'll feel the same way. I received a copy of this book to facilitate my review.
