Gaiam 25 oz Easy Grip Water Bottle Teal Medallion

I bought this a while ago. When I first got it, I washed it in warm, soapy water, let it soak, and the water in it still tasted metallic. I then decided to "let it breathe" for several months, washed it again, and used it again today , and there is still some metallic taste to the water in it. Definitely disappointed and wondering if other brands of stainless steel bottles retain their metallic taste...

What can I do? I washed it very well and it does not take away the metal taste :( It's sad because it's so pretty.
