You have to assemble the vacuum. It's not hard to do but was unexpected. It comes with one spare belt and one bag all ready to go, no extras like the description says. It is heavy and hard to push untill you adjust it to the right carpet height. There are no bells and whistles. All that said, it works extremely well. It is heavy-duty with a long cord. It is the best vacuum I've had in the past 30 years.
