Bad Bluetooth Capability

Decent sound, but horrible Bluetooth connection regardless of the mobile I'm using. The connection begins to stutter whenever the phone is moved or if I do something else with the device. This has not happened with any other Bluetooth device I've connected to my phone. If you're buying this for its Bluetooth capabilities, don't.

Weak Volume Output

Rockville HD5B 5" 150Watt RMS Powered Bluetooth Bookshelf Home Theater Speakers arrived on time and in good shape. I immediately connected them to my TV's Toslink Optical Output and fired up the LG 65" TV and configured it to send audio only to these speakers. The audio sound very good, but the MAX Volume is much lower than I expected for 150 Watt RMS Speakers. I also tried the 3.5mm audio stereo plug out of the TV and found the same to be true. Once these speakers are connected, NO volume control is permitted from the TV to control the speakers as the TV outputs a FIXED Volume level signal to the speakers. Only the Remote that came with the Speakers can be used to control the volume and while everything works OK, the response to the remote is a little laggy and slow to respond to the infrared remote control. I also tried Bluetooth and the reception from my Samsung phone was very poor and I lost all audio from playing songs on the phone to the speakers when the phone exceeded about 10 feet from the speakers. Even with the phone only 1 foot from the speakers, there was still noticeable pausing and skipping in the audio from time to time during the playing of a song. Bluetooth reception is really horrible, but that is not going to be the main use for these speakers. They will be ultimately provided as a gift to connect to a 40" RCA LED TV to watch TV shows and football games outside by the pool. When connected to this second TV, the local ATSC Antenna TV Stations when turned up to MAX Volume were just a little louder than the built in TV speakers, but the Bass and Treble were better and the audio was much easier to hear as compared to the TV's built in down firing speakers. Overall they are just Okay Speakers, but really did not put out the audio volume I had expected for a pair of 600 Watt / 150 Watt RMS Speakers. I probably would not buy these again and instead perhaps go with a stand alone Amplifier plus two or four 6" outdoor speakers that I can mount up high aimed at the audience. Cost would have been about the same, but unfortunately would probably not have a remote control for the volume control on cheap Amps.
