Translations by Larry Evers and Felipe S. Molina of "a traditional genre of poetic expressions that has not been performed in that Yaqui Indian community since 1941." The songs have been revived because of a threat to the Yaqui lands and life, by a group of Yaqui youth mentored by Felipe Molina, a Yaqui leader in the arts and in the community.
