These pants really do have a long, firm elastic band around the middle. As someone who struggles to find leggings that are long enough I love that these stay at my ankles. There is no need to size down, try to buy your correct size. The material is warm and very soft. I don't know how long they'll last but I will be buying them again simply because I love the wide supportive belly band in these high waist leggings. I feel good wearing them. Very pleased.
