By applying Deck Flash Barrier's slip-resistant polyethylene facing material with  Butyl Steel-Loc adhesive  to the tops of the deck joists before installing new deck boards, you will create a waterproof barrier that self-seals around screws and nails, blocking the primary pathway of water infiltration into the deck joist lumber. Butyl Deck Flash Barrier is made in the USA and contains no VOC's.
