AWESOME!

This is my second pair. I am a picky shoe person when it comes to fit and function. I've used my first pair every day for the last six months while working at a resort as well as for hiking and cycling. They grip well and dont where out very fast. Unless the design is changed I'll be back for a third pair.

Built like a tank

These shoes are heavy and durable. It takes a bit of time to break them in, and once you do the fit is still snug but comfortable. They climb really well. I've hiked, scrambled, short-roped, and led in these. My feet have stayed dry after two days in steady rain wearing these shoes. The only thing I wouldn't recommend would be carrying these in a pack up a route to wear for the descent. I've got a pair of super-light TX2s for that. But for burly approaches, aid climbing, 3rd and 4th class, these are awesome.

Great Shoe for hiking and Approach

I wore these this summer, July-Aug 2018, on a climbing trip into the Cirque of the Towers, Wind River Range, Wyoming. With 60+ pound pack of a week's food, climbing equipment, ropes, etc. This shoe performed better than my heavy duty Montagne's the year before. They were outstanding in how they gripped the rock, cushioned my feet, and kept my feet pretty dry during a two hour downpour/hailstorm on the hike out. On approaches they also performed well. I felt like I had real control over my foot placements, and I had no fear of the rubber slipping, no matter what the conditions were. My one complaint--they're too bulky and heavy to carry up a long, alpine route for the hike/rappel down. No matter though, I love these shoes! I wear my souped up Teva's (climbing rubber on the bottom) for light carrying up long routes.: )
