Sturdily crafted from light weight, strong, kiln dried Spruce, with stitched split popsicle stick style slats, slightly off set to allow light and air to pass through the panel shade. Light weight, sturdy, crafted from strong, kiln dried Spruce. Stitched popsicle stick slats, offset to allow light & air to pass through. Use for a decorative background, room divider, or portable, temporary shade.
This hand-crafted item and many others come from a third generation family run workshop in mainland China. Their skills of hand-painting, hand-rubbed lacquering and hand-tooling have been passed down for many generations. We are proud to support them in their quest to keep their age-old techniques alive for future generations. Many of the artists are hired out of semi-retirement to work from home training the next generation to become master craftsmen. These masters are highly respected in their craft and their culture which have survived through many Chinese dynasties and continue to produce valuable and desirable pieces for your home decor.

room divider
I give this em a three star because I believe that three is a neutral rating, neither negative nor positive. The item is very nice, well crafted, and somewhat structurally sound. However, the item lacks in quality workmanship particularly in the finishing details leading to a second hand store item and not a quality product. There are small nails around each square that are sitting halfway out; there is a nail head plain as day right dead center top of one panel, shiny silver against the black; there are tears and damages in a few of the runs of bamboo; there are threads hanging out of the vertical run in one panel; and, one panel has two different color hinges that definitely are noticeable. Beyond these minor infringements in the quality of workmanship, it is a nice item. If it reduces in price by fifty percent, I would recommend.
