Riddick (Blu-ray + Digital Copy), Universal Studios, Sci-Fi & Fantasy

Recently released in 4K via shout factory, which puts out some great remasters, unfortunately it seems the director chose to edit out part of a scene toward the end, an early fade to black that wasn't present on the true theatrical version on this disc. Even more unfortunate, that release claims it's still the "theatrical cut." It's not, but this one is. If you are looking for that, honestly the picture is pretty great, it's not 4K but it's also a newer film and uses CGI throughout, most CGI films are rendered at 2K anyway so you will not be missing much here. I wish directors would leave things alone or at least specify when it's been modified, even by a few seconds. Great movie, the Riddick movies are always a blast and while more like Pitch Black and not as epic as Chronicles of Riddick, it's still a fun ride.
