Chalk paint worked

I used the chalk paint as a base layer before using craft acrylic paint on top. I was using it on a smooth, manufactured wood product and it seems to have provided that grippy-base layer that I was looking for. The chalk paint had little noticeable smell. I was pleased.

Ocean chalk paint by Waverly

My mother and I love to craft. We always use Waverly chalk paint. The Waverly Inspirations Chalk Paint, Ultra Matte, Ocean is the most beautiful blue I have found in paint. We use the Waverly chalk paint to do the first coat on almost everything we paint. It covers exceptionally well and can be left as is or painted over with acrylic paint. The flow of the paint is perfect. Not thick but not thin. The pigment load leads to a vibrant color. I would not want to craft without Waverly!

Perfect paint %26 color to paint canvas cloth!

I really like Waverly Chalk paint and have been using it more and more as prices on smaller brands just keep going up. I'd love to support these smaller brands, but I just can't afford sixteen to thirty dollar jars of chalk paint, so I've been moving back to Waverly %26 Folkart. Except, Folkart doesn't have the same large range of colors available in the chalk paint formula, so I tried this orange to paint canvas cloth (or duck cloth I think it's called) %26 thick drop cloth I cut to make carrots I painted orange, then stamped, stuffed and added the lambs ear (from Walmart) and other greens I had as the tops. They came out perfect! I had made other ones with orange acrylic paint, but I wish I waited %26 did those after the Waverly chalk paint arrived, the acrylic paint was too bright, where this orange is the PERFECT orange for farmhouse stuffed carrots! And it'll be perfect to use for pumpkins later, too! The small carrots in Pic is this Wavery chalk paint (I used a different fake greens on top) %26 the larger one is the acrylic paint with Walmart lambs ear %26 if I didn't already stamp it, I'd have repainted lol, I just don't like the brightness. I may have to use the waverly antique wax or their watered down dark brown chalk paint to dull it down. Don't make the same mistake, this color is perfect!
