Thionin and Iron: A Light Induced Redox Reaction Science Kit - Innovating Science

Used for study of light-induced redox action in a thionin and iron solution, and features an activity for placing a thionin and iron solution in a container, and exposing one half to light to observe redox reaction (container sold separately). The colored thionin is reduced by iron ions and turns clear, while the unexposed half of the container remains colored.

The kit has an instructions and safety data sheet (SDS) packet for product information and handling procedures. The kit is suitable for age 13 and older with adult supervision, and meets the requirements for Department of Transportation (DOT) small quantity exemption 173.4, and conforms to 49 Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) 173.4 for domestic highway or rail transport only.
