nice take on magnetic toy

I received a free sample of this toy that my children at home love to use. They are a bit more interesting to use than magnatiles because of the various curves and features. They are a nice step up for children who are starting to get bored of regular magnatiles.

Misleading pattern book

My kids love powerclix, and I love that it encourages imagination and creativity. So I wanted to add on to the basic set we already have. When this 48 piece set arrived, they tore into it, eager to flip through the pattern book and build the biplane on the cover of the book. Only to find out this set doesn't come with enough pieces to make the biplane. They flipped to another page, decided on the Dinosaur. Nope. The pattern calls for 8 hexagons, the set only comes with 2. Again and again they found themselves unable to complete the patterns provided with the set. There's only a handful of patterns in the book (of 39 pages of patterns) that you can actually do. It's still great fun to play with powerclix, but kinda like getting a box of lego's without the correct number of pieces to complete the picture on the front. Still a good product, and fun to come up with your own stuff, but disappointing if what you like about it is following the pattern to build the cool stuff pictured.
