(Open Box) RCA Maven Pro 11.6" 2-in-1 Tablet 32GB Quad Core

Here is why I gave it 5 stars: Basically, this is an Android laptop. It has the convenience and reliability of a non-bluetooth keyboard which also means you never have to charge the keyboard separately. I use a variety of systems personally; I have a Windows machine, a Chromebook laptop and a number of Android smartphone and an Iphone. This tablet combo provides me with a laptop-like experience in an Android system. I can get 5 hours easily without charging which is not a problem because I'm never away from an outlet any longer than that. The screen, while it maybe only 720P is adequate and being an IPS screen, means it does not fade when looked at from an angle. The tablet and keyboard are rather heavy but that really makes it feel like a tank. It can charge either with the plug type cord or via the micro USB which makes it compatible with most smartphone chargers. It has a regular USB port that can accept a thumb drive or anything that connects via regular USB. Finally, I paid $109.00 when it was on sale. Fast and convenient shopping, thanks to Walmart!

Since the Lenovo was pronounced un usable do to another bad update, the Nextbook started out good but fizzled due to networking problems yet all the while my little 7 inch RCA Voyager kept coming to the rescue with outstanding performance but lacked a large enough screen for my full time needs, so I took the perverbial leap of faith and decided to try another RCA that would hopefully fill the void, enter the Maven. The size was actually a bit more than I wanted but the key features I needed was to have a track record of Good Updates, screen is of true high resolution so it can be viewed clearly from all angles, the two in one magnetic keyboard (which works very well) to the screen connector with flip and screen support ability, good sound with adequate volume (also works very well with ad on computer speakers), enough horsepower and low energy use with ample battery backup.......Maven has ticked all the boxes and more. Going beyond, Maven has good fit, finish and style and looks to be made of good quality materials and can survive some everyday abuse while the screen itself did have the odd piece of dirt or two show up behind the screen which has become an RCA trait but fortunately a couple of light finger flicks on the screen and the dust was herded off screen out of sight. One other small problem showed up after the update where online speed dropped a lot, but thanks to the guys at XDA Forums the solution came easily in the form of simply changing the wireless router channel from 2 to 5 which resolved this long standing Lollipop problem, so it was an easy fix with no other update side effects. Overall, Maven is a keeper, especially when compared to much more expensive name brand tablets where it gives nothing away but does just have a very attractive price point that makes the experience all the sweeter. Standing alone on its own merits without price being the deciding factor both my Maven and Voyager ( both from RCA) have become the standard by which all others are judged.
