Doesn't work right

We bought this as a gift for my 4yo and it's really hard to get to work right. The top of the train gets stuck under the boulder tunnel and you have to really push it through. When you do that it knocks the boulder out. So my son stopped playing with it. I expect better from Thomas and fisher price.
