Kato does not disappoint :)

Since I started N scale due to space issues. All my HO stuff is put away. Kato has not failed to disappoint me (knock on wood). Out of the box Kato locomotives seem to get up and go and run superbly. I run DC not DCC on my layout and this set is DC. This is a basic set with no tracks, if you have no tracks you need to buy some. It will run on N scale tracks and doesn't have to be Kato tracks. I run Code 80 Atlas flex and sectional tracks on cork roadbed. The rail cars are neat and roll nicely. You have to carefully cut out the brake wheels (they give you a choice of brake wheels) for the covered hoppers and the chimney for the caboose and attach them. I also have the Union Pacific version of this exact same set and noticed the road numbers on the hoppers and tank cars are the same in both sets. Other than that I like this train set and consider it a good addition to my layout. I recommend this set if you are considering purchasing it.
