Coleman Camping Tent
The Walmart 3 season Coleman Tent has over 90 square feet of interior floor which fits 2 queen size air mattresses. With 2 queen mattresses, there was little room to move around in, so we stood them up against the tent wall during the day while we aired out our sleeping bags over a make-shift cloths-line. It was a little crowded with 2 air mattresses, 4 people and our gear, but a palace for 2. The outside dimensions are 10.5ft Long x 9.5ft Wide x 6ft Height in center with lots of head room for the tall people. The carrying case measures 8" x 8" x 24" and is a little tight if you don't pack it correctly and weighs 9.5lbs on my scale. I discovered an expansion panel tear tab on the bottom of case to give me more room to pack the tent in loosely. It took me 10 minutes to setup by myself. It has a pin & ring frame attachment system to attach the fiberglass poles. The poles are fiberglass and the pole sleeves are snag-free continuous without a break in the center top like a lot tents. It has one D-Shape front door with a screen and privacy panel to zip/unzip for air circulation and has smooth zippers with a zipper storm flap and the door tie-backs for easy entry and exit. Also, it has an awning over the door that is supported by a small fiberglass pole. A ground vent located in the rear of the tent increases air ventilation. It has a storage mesh pocket located on inside right of door. The 1/4 of the top of the tent is mesh bug screen which allows cross air circulation for those good nights to sleep under the stars bug free. The rain fly features Coleman's WeatherTec which keeps you dry. The rain fly covers the tent 3/4 quarters of the way, so it is not a full rain fly, however, it kept us dry over a weekend of afternoon showers and was sturdy in 30mph winds and this tent is rated for 35mph-56mph for wind & rain. The tent was well staked out as well as the guy lines and it didn't move, rip, fall, and not even a fiberglass pole break. The color of the tent is grey and navy blue with redish/maroon accents and a grey welded tub floor. It comes with 6 included guy lines and aluminum stakes and has a 1 year limited manufacture warranty.
Good size tent
The tent fits 2 twin sized blow up air mattresses very well. Still have room for some of your stuff too. It says it is a 6 person tent but I don't think sleeping like sardines is a good idea. I was able to stand up Fully in the center of the tent. I am 5'5" tall. The material is strong and the zippers were very easy to use (no snags or hang ups). Haven't used it during a rain event yet so not sure on its rain proofing. The bag is very light weight with all the contents. I was easily able to put the tent up by myself with no one's help. That is a big plus! I think this tent is a good one for a max of three people.
Coleman Quality at a Convenient Price
A little about me... I'm an Eagle scout, my father was a school teacher and we spent the summers camping and I spent many days in the field while in the Army. I'm retired now and camp every chance I get. Mix that with a lifetime of avid camping I've probably camped more than 99% of the population. My overall review is this is an excellent tent for the money. It's a middle of the road tent. My other tent is a Coleman 6 man Instant Cabin Tent. I paid over $200 for it. This tent has many similar features like double stitched seaming with tape added to prevent seam leaks. It has a bathtub floor that keeps you dry when water runs on the ground. Ventilation is excellent as this is a three season tent. With its open screened top its not suitable for winter camping. I'm 5'10" and can stand up in the center with about 3" to spare. I can move about a foot in any direction before my head touches the dome. Its plenty of room for changing clothes or crawling in and out of bed. The floor is 9'6" x 10'6". That's 6" longer in both directions than my $200 6 man Instant Tent. The material is lightweight but appears to be highly water resistant. I was in a two day rain and it performed well. Seam sealer and longevity will tell. The design suggest to me it will hold up in high winds. I would replace the stakes with 9" stakes for better support. Also the rain fly has two Velcro straps that attaches to each pole corner. That's very important for pole stability. The poles of that type are the thickest Coleman makes which is an added plus. Room? You can fit two queen beds and a family of four okay. Two people and it's really comfortable. Why pack them in like sardines? Set up? I have a bad back and didn't read any directions. By myself I had the cabin up in 10 minutes. The rain fly and staking took another 10 minutes. That was my first time. I'm sure I'll get faster. This tent is covered by a 1year warranty. My previous experiences with Coleman customer service was excellent. I once bought a lantern with a cheap case included. When I received it there was no case. One quick phone call Coleman sent me their most expensive case for free. It cost more than my original purchase. I was happy with that service. Again for the quality versus price you can't go wrong. The only con I could find with the tent is the Coleman lantern logo on the back of the tent gets partially covered by the rain fly. I won't lose sleep over that. :)
