I bought these pants because my old pair finally tapped out after one too many “I swear this is the last time I squat to pick something up” moments. When these arrived, I was immediately impressed: they looked like the kind of pants that have heard secrets. Troubled secrets. . The fit is oddly perfect, like they were tailored by someone who studied my lower half extensively but respectfully. The fabric feels durable enough to survive a minor bear encounter, yet soft enough that I considered replacing all my furniture with it. The pockets are unsettling in the best possible way. They're so deep I'm convinced they operate under different zoning laws. Yesterday I reached in for my keys and found a receipt from a store that does not, to my knowledge, exist. I kept it anyway — feels like something the pants wanted me to have. The pants themselves have one strange trait: they develop *opinions*. Not loudly, not even clearly — just subtle little hints. I'll reach for a snack, and the waistband will mysteriously tighten, as if offering gentle judgment. Try to sit on a questionable-looking chair, and suddenly they feel more supportive, like they're bracing for impact right along with me. At this point, I consider us partners. Slightly bossy ones, but still. Overall: comfy, reliable, slightly ominous, and better than I deserve. Would buy again unless they become self-aware. At that point, they can buy me.
