you'll never beat the Price
Greetings, i was pleasantly surprised to see these Grow Slabs on Harris Seeds site. i have always wanted Coco Coir to work in my Hydroponic system, and avoided it because of the Harsh Salts used in processing. sellers take advantage and charge outrageous prices for Coco products, and they mislead the buyers. i purchased the coco pellet size, first buy to fit into 2" net pots. it expanded to very loose medium & i had to line the net pots. my plants did not like it at all, many didn't survive. i purchased these Slabs to supplement some of my 4 gallon Hydro Bucket in my greenhouse in the summertime. it's winter now, and i knew i was going to remove some of the coco from the slab for indoor hydroponic plants. i liked the Rough Texture of the slabs compared to the Fine texture of the other coco to create air space. using the FINE Coco i experienced Fungus Gnats ( who knows where the heck they came from ) so i canned the fine coco.i was trying to grow Onion Sets in the Harris Coco, Hydro, but wasn't having much success ( i haven't tried that method before and the tops were growing great, But the bulbs themselves were shrinking, which i read is normal. so the story isn't finished yet. this summer i will plant some San Marzanos & Chili Peppers in the Slabs. to be continued. Happy Day :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
