I wanted a laptop for web browsing, and lite gaming/productivity. Couldn't get excited about spending $700 for a capable Windows PC for my basic needs, so started researching Chromebooks. Last I knew they were low-spec devices with small junk screens, and only provided Chrome browsers, but they have come along way. This particular model met all my spec checkboxes, specifically a 15” 1080p IPS monitor, and an I3 processor for a little boost over a Celeron as far as Chromebooks go. I didn't think I would use the touch screen, but it has been a great bonus for tablet games. The screen looks great, but colors aren't as saturated as a Lenovo tablet in the house. Overall I love this device - it's very quick and easy to use, and looks much better built than the price would suggest. The only con you you should know is this device expires in 2025 already (a Chromebook thing I missed in my research), so it won't be supported by Google at that point for security/ updates. Price still averages out fairly per year, but I will be replacing it sooner than I would like though. Regardless, the price was right to be able to try out a Chromebook, and glad I did.
