Remington F5 Comfort Series Lithium Intercept Electric Foil Shaver, Black, PF7500

When I had the chance to review this shaver , I was thrilled. I had always been reluctant to trying an electric shaver. I was told by several friends that they didn't provide a close enough shave and that they were difficult to handle. I was also warned of the lack of power in some. Well, when I first used the Remington F5 Comfort shaver, all of my fears vanished. The shaver is powered by a rechargeable lithium battery that is made for corded or cordless use. The battery can be charged in 5 minutes, Incredible. It provides up to 3 times more battery life than the normal NIMH battery. The shaver is tapered for an easy grip and provides excellent closeness. The head allows for comfort with it's flexibility, There's also a pop- up trimmer for side burns. For an easy clean-up, just rinse under the faucet. An excellent tool for travel or at home.

The proceeding is my review on the "Remington F5 Comfort Series Lithium Powered Intercept Foil Shaver". While, for the past few years, I have been enjoying a fantastic shave by using the allegedly best and undoubtedly most expensive men's facial shaver, manufactured by a different brand, it is notable that does not bias my opinion at all against this model of Remington facial shaver. First, just a bit of history on my experience with Remington brand electric shavers. Actually, my initial men's electric corded(non-rechargeable) facial shaver had been manufactured by Remington. A reason I had decided to purchase that model, is during my mid-twenties one of the most popular television commercials featured an older man displaying it with the then famous phrase "I liked this product so much that I bought the company". That had been a very different time in technological development, and the fact was there had been no better shaver available on the market. It provided quite a good shave, for those days; though, it became quickly overheated, vibrated to the point that I would often lose almost all sensation in my fingers, operated loudly, and caused more than a few skin abrasions. I used it intermittently, alternating with the old-fashioned blade/soap/water technique. I suppose that my fairly infrequent usage of it had been the primary reason for it having lasted for nearly two decades. Eventually, the micro-screen finally wore away. My elderly mom, may she rest in peace, had strongly insisted that I should purchase and use only the best on the market, no matter how exorbitantly expensive, and that's exactly what I did. In specific relevance to this "Remington F5" electric facial shaver, principally since its cost is slightly less than that old Remington shaver I had originally known, and its cost is merely a tiny fraction of the very expensive electric facial shaver I've been using currently, I sort of presumed that it would not be too satisfactory. WOW. I was pleasantly surprised when I had selected and tried this model of Remington shaver. Perhaps, it could be due to its blades being brand-new, yet the "Remington F5" offers a powerful, not too noisy, mildly vibrating, really comfortable and close shave. No significant abrasions have been experienced thus far, though it does tend to sporadically pull on those longer hairs. Here's where the benefit of its pop-up trimmer comes in handy, as it easily opens and closes, and pre-trims those longer hairs to allow for a closer, smoother shaving experience. The built-in intercept feature pre-trims longer hairs to a more than reasonable extent, too. The pop-up trimmer, located on its back-side, is also useful for trimming sideburns, mustaches, etc. If you don't have any time to fuss, or you are in a rush, bear in mind that it simply gives the smoothest shaving experience when used rather often; that is, on facial hairs that have grown in for not much more than a day or so. The head pivots and flexes, automatically adjusting the angle for added comfort. It is undoubtedly beyond worth the price and, in my experiences, even as compared to the allegedly best electric shaver on the market, it offers a most satisfactory shave. In my opinion, even if one already owns and uses a more expensive model, it is definitely a good idea to purchase the "Remington F5" to be used as a convenient spare shaver or as a bring-along portable travel shaver. It truly is amazingly lightweight, ergonomically contoured, with a ribbed grip for your fingers, and is really easy to hold during use. There are benefits to the fact that this model is lithium powered. Lithium batteries offer longer-lasting usage per charge and maximum power and torque to the motor's operation. Further, there's the convenience of use anywhere you may need to shave, and, after a very brief charge via its AC cord, it will remain fully powered for a maximum of sixty minutes(an entire hour). A nice convenience is that only a five minute charge will provide power for a complete shave. While charging, a green LED indicator lights. I emphasize a great convenience in that this shaver may be used cordless or for a lengthier period with the AC cord attached. Another benefit I wish to emphasize is, as with many similar products, this shaver is friendly for both left or right handed persons. Even though it's a good aspect that a tiny, cleaning brush is included in the packaging, and the blade assembly can be safely washed with soap and water, I candidly regard it a bit of an inconvenience that the manufacturer recommends lubricating the blades(with non-aerosol oil) in between each shave. It is recommended to first remove the top(be careful as the blades seem to easily drop out), then brush out any debris, followed by washing under soap and water, and permitting some time to dry prior to applying the oil. I don't doubt this process is beneficial for the device, and will allow for superior functioning, plus will aid in the blades and motor lasting longer. This is, however, not a process I would wish to engage in more than approximately once a week. Besides, the instructions advise that the compatible shaving head should be replaced after each twelve months of usage, anyhow. All in all, I would absolutely recommend this "Remington F5" electric facial shaver to other customers, as it is a really great shaver at a great price.
