Beautiful Addition, Well Made

I really wanted this bookcase, but I'm a 75-year-old widow and I wondered if I would be able to put it together by myself. Believe it or not, the booklet for assembling the unit and the lettered pieces made it easy. It came with an Allen wrench to tighten the screws, but I had a bit in my cordless drill that made the assembly go faster. By assembling it myself, I was able to see the quality and workmanship that went into it and I was impressed. Once it was fully assembled, I was awed by how beautiful it looks. The Dorel Living Moriah Bookcase is like a piece of art, more than just a bookcase. The hardest part was deciding what to place on it because the style makes it open to so many possibilities that it is mind-blowing. It comes with a lower metal shelf, three tempered glass shelves, and two faux marble shelves. This bookcase is 72" high when assembled (6 feet). The length of the bookcase is 40" across and 13" front to back. There are weight limitations on the shelves that I kept in mind when putting items on them. The metal bottom shelf has a 40 lb. limit, the tempered glass shelves have a 20 lb. weight limit and the faux marble shelves have a 10 lb. max. limit. In addition, it came with a strap to hold the bookcase against the wall and prevent the possibility of tipping. All said and done, it is a beautiful addition to my living room and has become the focal point in the room. I have already received so many beautiful comments about this bookcase.

Beautiful and Upscale Furniture

After purchasing the Dorel Living Geometric Etagere expect a very tall and heavy box when you receive the delivery. It came packed extremely well with heavy duty straps and lots of styrofoam inside the box to hold and prevent loose items from damage and moving around during transport. I would recommend an extra person to help open the package and hold it when assembling. It comes with lots of hardware they are all labeled, grouped and placed on a hard piece of cardboard with clear plastic on top making it easy to locating the hardware you need. The instructions are basically simple and straight forward to follow. The only problem was the frame is metal, that was powder coated brass, some of the coating clogged the thread holes, had to use a drill to unblock the holes for the screws to go through. Be careful if doing this process, it can scratch the coating and leave scratch marks on the frame. However, it seems to be sturdy, well made with heavy duty durable construction. It's strong enough to be left free standing if you maintain weight balance, heavier items on bottom. But it is recommended to take safety precautions. It comes with safety brackets to brace the back and secure to the wall for more stability. It is a modern contemporary design but will be perfect for any decor and room. It is a wonderful elegant statement piece of furniture. Each tempered glass shelf holds 20 lbs, the faux marble shelves holds 10 lbs and the lower metal shelf holds 40 lbs. Just don't slide items on the metal shelving it can permanently take off the coating and expose the metal. Great for displaying art pieces, or even books. It is non gender or age specific.

This étagère is very nice

I like it very much, it looks elegant, has style. I especially like the faux marble and tempered glass, it looks so nice. The installation was fast because I used an electric drill but it could have been faster if some places weren't blocking me from using my drill. I noticed that the tempered glasses are held by 4 small pieces (you can see the small piece close from the yellow duck) and I worry it might be dislodged inadvertently so I might have to tape the border temporarily just in case even though it won't look as good.
