very sturdy cot, quick set-up...

I think a portable camping cot is a great concept. I am a lot more comfortable sleeping on a cot than on the ground! I'd say this cot is big enough for an average size adult, & plenty big enough for a child. My son tried it out, he's about 6' 1", weighs 140. (He's very thin). His feet hung off just a tad when he laid straight, and the mattress was "ok", not thick at all. But do-able. The head of the cot is tilted a bit, and has a bit of cushion to it. Attached to the mattress is a pretty decent sized storage compartment to hold your phone, bug spray, etc. The cot measures approximately 73" long (tilted) x 28" wide. Folded up in the carrying bag it measures 41" in length x 11" wide. It says the mattress is easy to clean, but doesn't go into much detail so I'm not sure if this is machine washable or not? But it is water resistant. The frame seems to be very sturdy, good quality and pretty heavy. Setting up this cot only took about 5 mins. But I needed help locking the frame into place. I don't see how one person can do that part alone. The mattress is very lightweight. It's gray on one side and navy blue on the other. It easily wraps around the frame and stays firmly in place, that part of set-up was quite simple! I also needed help unlocking the frame and putting it into the carrying bag. The mattress will not fit in the bag, but the cot itself fits perfectly fine. It only took us a few mins to take it down and slide it into the carrying bag. All in all we're pretty satisfied with our folding, portable cot. It sure beats sleeping on the ground!
