Not for the faint hearted

When they say high velocity, they mean it! Although I give this fan five stars for quality and sturdiness, I have to return it. It is just too strong, even on the lowest setting. I love that the housing and blades are metal, this fan would last a lifetime. But if you are looking for a bedroom fan with a nice gentle breeze, this is not the fan for you. This fan is probably best for circulating air in a very large area. It is just too strong to be pointed at yourself at night, and it is very loud.

Great for circulating air in large room!

Good quality construction. My husband places it at garage opening to suck in the cooler air inside while working in there. Also to give the hvac a break inside the house we utilize in the family room and it does a great job of making the house feel cooler with the hvac thermostat left at 78 degrees in our 90+ summer temps makes the room feel about 75 (2 story vaulted ceiling room with a skylight but have tiled floors). Our long haired shih tzu loves it too.

better than expected

Stood in store debating whether to buy this to replace my shop squirrel cage blower fan that quit. I originally went to purchase a replacement for the one that quit but they didn't have one. This unit was similar to three others, but was the only one that wasn't plastic. Fantastic buy. I paid more than a hundred dollars for the fan that quit. This one works better than it ever did, even when I'm under a vehicle I get more air flow than the blower, and at almost a third of the price.
