Humor translation is among the most difficult types of translation. A humor translator needs to have a great linguistic and cultural competence of SL and TL in order to be able to recognize the source joke and he must also be able to reproduce it in the TT. However, due to the language-bound and culture-bound characteristics of humor, translators find it difficult if not impossible to transfer the humor. This challenge also gets greater when the SL and the TL such as English and Persian are widely different at both linguistic level and cultural level. This book focuses on rendition of the humorous elements in two animated movies from English into Persian.
