Helpful Item

Nickolas is 14 months old. I waited so late to try and transition him off of the bottle. Which I am not one of those parents that make their kids go cold turkey. I give him his bottle in the morning and throughout the day he drinks from his Avent transitional cup. At first it took some determination and prayer to not give up. I did this routine everyday. It was a struggle and yes I wanted to give up because he would rather that bottle. I can say so far it's a go. One of my aunts told me that if he gets hungry or thirsty enough he will drink from the Avent transitional cup. So far he is getting the hang of things. He holds the handles and he drink his milk. The good thing about this transitional cup is the nipple on it. It does remind him of the nipple on his bottle. So I think that is one thing that is saving me right now. I only wish the cups would have come in a larger ounce. Being that he drinks eight ounces of milk, four times a day. As of right I just get up and refill the cup so he can continue to drink out of it. I can say that I would definitely recommend this cup. I would also say use the Avent transitional cup early before twelve months, not unless you have the patience like me to work with your child after twelve months.

Smart Training cup!

My ten month old (at the time) gravitated to this cup immediately. This was the first cup we gave to him to begin training him to drink from a regular cup. He handled it perfectly and used it correctly the very first time. I like the handles on the cup but, getting the nipple lined up correctly on the other side takes a few minutes. I also like that the cup is clear. This makes it easy for me to see what's inside. The nipple is soft, similar to the texture of a nipple on a baby bottle. It has the shape of a spout though so it's different from a bottle nipple. I had no complaints about this product. My son likes it and he drinks from the cup easily. I would love to have this trainer cup in a bigger size. I would recommend this product to anyone training a small child to drink from a cup. It's a no brainer!
