I bought the 95" long curtains to put on a tension curtain rod and use as a room divider between the kitchen and the rest of the house. The ceilings are 7 or 8 feet high and I wanted fairly complete closure at the top and bottom to trap cooking odors from going into the rest of the house. It's a small, rented house so I can't do anything permanent. I had this curtain setup in a previous apartment and it worked pretty well, so I figured I'd do it again.They look really nice, they're very soft, all the light comes through, and it's easy to walk through them. I have cotton tie-backs if I want to keep them open. So, this idea worked out well. As far as how well they keep the odors in the kitchen, last time I cooked chicken in the oven I think I left one side of the curtains open. I don't remember. I don't even cook that often, but I hate to smell the food for days.
