Cesco FC-100 Flocculant Clarifier - for Pool, Spa, Pond - Non-Toxic – Half Gallon: Cesco FC-100 Flocculant Clarifier contains a natural polymer derived from crustacean shells. Cesco FC-100 clarifies cloudy water by causing suspended organic and inorganic particles to coagulate or clump together. Once these unwanted particles have clumped together, they will either sink or float, depending on their density, and can be removed with a pool vacuum or pond filter. For typical swimming pools and hot tubs, 1 ounce of Cesco FC-100 will clear 5000 gallons of water. For ponds, the dosage will be higher because there are more suspended particles. We recommend between 5 and 20 ounces per 5000 gallons of water. To determine the proper dosage for a pond, pull a 5-gallon sample of water, add one mL of Cesco FC-100 at a time, stir and observe for a few minutes. Keep repeating until pin flocs (larger particles) start to form. Once you see the pin flocs forming, you know you have the correct dosage for 5 gallons. Then you’ll need to calculate the total amount required for your pond.
