A classier, 'dressier' shirt for all purposes

I prefer this semi-new version of Columbia's women's long-sleeve shirt line - the "Silver Ridge Lite". Most importantly this shirt has a much classier cut and appearance, and can easily be worn to places and events which are not outdoor-sy (unlike the Tamiami II and Bahama shirts, which do a good job for hiking, camping, walking the dog, working in the garden, etc, but not so much when going out to lunch or dinner to a 'nice' restaurant, or to a museum). The cut is more forgiving and flattering, esp. for an older woman's body shape like mine. It flows more easily around my chest, stomach and hips, & I feel is the most flattering Columbia shirt out there for those of us who are not a size 2 or 12. Note that this shirt is a tunic-length on women shorter than 5'7"; I've hemmed up the bottom 2-inches on a couple of these shirts for a more flattering look on my 5'4" frame (fortunately I sew and can tailor my clothing to fit me best). This shirt has become my go-to for traveling, as it can be easily packed and dressed up or down depending on the occasion. Due to the slippery-feeling material (similar to the Tamiami II shirts) it layers beautifully under sweaters, cardigans, fleece tops and vests in colder weather, so I keep this shirt in my closet year-round. "Nocturnal" is a dark blue definitely containing a gray hue; I prefer Columbia's 'Collegiate Blue' as a true navy blue, but it's not offered in this shirt (so far).

Great Shirt

I bought this shirt to go under a hand-knitted wool vest. I love the light weight and silky feel of the material.

Wonderful

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I'm a transit driver. And the sun beaming on one arm was unbearable. I got one. And came back for two more. Out of all the UV shirts, I like these the best. They are comfortable, feminine, light weight. They transition well from warm afternoon to chilly evenings. I've never dried them. They keep their shape.
