Always wore a 10M shoe but when I got these I needed a shoehorn to get into them. They were too short and too narrow. With the help of a very helpful customer service representative I returned the first pair for a 10 1/2W. Hope this is helpful for everyone ordering this shoe.

So far so good!

I like the shoe so far I have been just wearing it indoors while it breaks in a little more. Leather is nice, I was wondering if I would "be OK" with the Nylon eyelet cord instead of leather, but I'm getting used to it and maybe it will stay tied longer! To my foot the "W" designation is still quite narrow and the sole itself doesn't appear any wider than the first pair I ordered in 12W. I ended up going up one size to a 13W and it fits, yet slightly long. I hope this pair lasts 23 years like the pair it is replacing.
