Compelling but nauseating film based upon Gary Webb's intrepid non fiction- Dark Alliance, the perpetual obtuse myopia contrived by political scientists, the puppet masters to the US government's quagmire of power lusting criminals. Agencies of the US government are immune to traffics drugs, launder money and murder. I was a commercial pilot in the Fla Keys for 11 years and naively ambled into a tangent of this travesty. Several acquaintances around Marathon airport told me that during the 80's the Monroe County mosquito control DC-3's had made flights to Central America, loaded with guns returning with cocaine. During that same time frame a Federal Customs agent vanished from the Marathon airport Customs facility (I have been unable to find records or news articles regarding Marathon's missing federal LE agent). Backstory: Monroe County Sheriff Ramsey's daddy (Dick) was a perpetual Key's politician and self obsessed braggart cocaine trafficker who owned Bahamas property and an airplane. I heard the sheriff's daddy, Dick CHUCKLE while sharing the story of Marathon's missing Customs agent “it's a big ocean”. One Dick's convicted cocaine mules shared the identical story, (he was interned for 3 years at Eglin AFB country club prison, he told me he received a $75k loan from Dick Ramsey as reward for his silence dealing his coke) Further he said his father became the replacement Customs agent at Marathon, elaborating that his father never busted anyone after what happened to the last guy (C agent) unless they crashed on the airport with a load. ….additional topical films: American Made; %26 Freeway Rick Ross, a crack in the system.
