McCormick Gluten Free Gluten Free Fajita Skillet Sauce, 6.0 oz Pouch

McCormick Fajita with Roasted Chili, Garlic & Lime skillet sauce is a new and easy to use sauce which makes quick work of dinner. You have to provide 1 pound of boneless skinless chicken breasts, cut into strips, a tbsp. vegetable oil, 1 onion and 1 bell pepper, also cut into strips. Brown the chicken first in the oil on medium-high heat, then add the onion and bell pepper strips and cook 3 minutes, then stir in the sauce, reduce heat to a simmer for 3 more minutes. Done! The package describes the sauce as a sizzling flavor blend of roasted chili pepper and lime for fajitas. It smelled fantastic while cooking and it tasted fantastic. It had a fresh taste even though it was a packaged sauce, and was not overly sweet. My family preferred it to the other fajita mix we have tried which came in a powdered form and was good, but tasted heavy on the black pepper. This sauce was quick and easy to fix, did not come out watery, it was thick enough to give a nice coating of sauce to the chicken, onion and bell pepper strips. I served it in warm flour tortillas with a dollop of plain yogurt. Yum!

I didn't have to tweak this sauce at all. I let my chicken marinate in it for 6 hours in the fridge to soak in all the flavors. I used a pretty high heat on the stove to sear it and lock the flavor in. Warmed the leftover sauce and then cooked the chicken in it for about 10 more minutes. Lay out some shells and sides and you are ready to serve a great meal.
