Crazy Crafts: Jungle Animals [DVD]

The "Crazy Crafts" series from Casablanca Kids shows that, with a few common household items and a little imagination, you can create all sorts of homemade toys! Host Maggie and her raccoon pal Jackson focus each episode on a story, for which they create the characters. The crafts use items like paper cups, paper plates, pipe cleaners, popsicle sticks and construction paper, with kindergarten level craft mechanics, like using scissors and glue. The first episode "The Lion and the Rabbit," focuses on a brave rabbit, a monkey and a rhinoceros, who confront a fearsome lion about his scary demeanor. Children learn to make the animals, and then use them to act out the story. "The Spotted Zebra" features a monkey and a horse, searching for the source of the allergies. The final segment tells of a elephant and a mouse and their unlikely friendship. The DVD includes an activity guide and detailed instructions for the crafts.
