Minwax® Wipe-On Poly Clear, Satin, 1-Qt

If you are going to refinish anything or finish something new, go straight to this Minwax Wipe On Poly. I began by using the Watco brand from the big orange and white box store. What a mistake! It was too thick showed my rag marks and I could never get a good finish. I was so discouraged. Then, I bought the Minwax Warm Satin Wipe On poly. What a world of difference! Minwax is thinner and easier to apply. I had plenty of time to work with it and to get a smooth coat. The finished product looks great. I used a chip brush to apply and then wiped with a t-shirt rag moistened with more poly. A dry rag took too much off. I applied several coats until I had the finish I was looking to create sanding lightly when needed. Go straight to Minwax and for us amateurs, wipe on is the best.

I have used several finishing products for my projects. I had used wipe on poly before, but used thicker coats. This resulted in undesirable results thin coats and maintaining a clean surface in each application, gets a perfect finish with little to no sanding.
