This sharpener works well, great value

I bought this as a replacement for a name-brand electric three-stage kitchen knife sharpener that wasn't performing well (it takes forever to put a mediocre edge on a knife.) I've owned various other sharpeners over the years, including water and oil stones, none of which performed well (the stone sharpeners work but require maintenance to keep a flat surface.) I saw this device on YouTube and decided to give it a try. I also bought a strop from the same company, and a good brand of 6 micron diamond paste from another supplier. It took a little practice to get the hang of it, but to my amazement it works exactly as promised. After briefly reshaping the apex on the coarse side and about 20 passes on the fine side, and about 15 passes on the strop, i sliced super thin slices of tomato just like the tv “pros”! A couple of tips: don't use water or oil on the plate, and don't try too hard to force the process. Relax and focus on keeping your wrists locked rather than tense. It's really pretty easy!
