Comfort Pointe Raleigh Neoclassical Arm Chair

I bought two of these chairs for a TV room that had black wood accents. The chair is comfortable, but I was very surprised to see that the wooden parts of the chair were not black, but a very shiny painted gray. They do not match the other furniture in the room. The write-up calls the wood graphite. I thought of the graphite color of the lead of a pencil- black. I will need to treat the wood to tone down the gray. Strange that they would pair the deep gray wood with a tan and cream color fabric.
