Hair Insurance has a fresh citrusy smell, but it's not overpowering. It smells...fresh! I use this when I'm about to style my hair after bathing. I love Aussie hair insurance. I have soft, baby fine hair. It gets tangled easily when I wash it and every time the wind blows. I spray it with Aussie when it's wet or dry and the tangles come out easily, painlessly and with out damaging my hair. I recommend it for anyone who wants soft manageable hair without painful tangles.
