Installation is straightforward once you know the trick. The item ships with the piston unconnected, which is logical. The instructions advise refrigerating it for 30 minutes and then pushing it in. However, using a board to push against makes the process much easier. It works perfectly.

I utilized 2 of these arms to raise a fairly weighty 12-foot vent window in my greenhouse. They perform excellently, particularly at the temperatures as advertised, and come at a reasonable price.
