Cautions for Use with a Lift.

Easy to assemble. It comes with individual footrests like a wheelchair, rather than the bar shown here, which we feel are helpful. It also has has a Velcro strap from side to side behind the legs to provide additional support. Otherwise the product is as shown. The seat has a ridge in back that I personally found uncomfortable. The "comfort padding" is much firmer than I expected--not much give. It has brakes on the front wheels and not on the back. This is a sticking point for the nursing home where my mother is. They feel it is not safe to move Mom into it with a lift, so do not want to use it. This is a huge disappointment, since it cannot be returned, and was a big expense. And she needs a padded commode with good trunk support to try to maintain her health. We are looking at possibilities of adding rear wheel brakes or making cradles for the back wheels so they do not move. The front brakes add a lot of stability, but the chair can still be pushed backward with enough force, and the back wheels turn slightly.
