Bass was born in Fat Hog's Bay, on the island of Tortola in the British Virgin Islands, to Gad and Perpote Thomas Malone. She graduated from the BVI Comprehensive High School, now Elmore Stoutt High School. Marilin continued her studies and eventually earned a Masters of Science in Nursing: Emphasis in Nursing Education. Marilin has always loved the music of various genres and obtained a Bachelor of Arts in voice. She performed her first solo at age eleven. She is an accomplished musician: writer, arranger, performer, and has recorded many of her gospel songs. Boundless Childhood Joy came about as a way to preserve the happy childhood memories she, her siblings, relatives, and others share. In her leisure time, Marilin enjoys singing, playing guitar and piano, reading, fixing jigsaw puzzles, exercising, and researching various health topics to benefit herself and others.
