Banzai Melon Madness Inflatable Water-Filled Pool Game Ball, Ages 8 & Up, Unisex

This is a pretty fun toy for the pool. It kept my kids busy for awhile. It comes with a hoop that you assemble by clicking the pieces in place. There are what sounds like marbles in one of the hoop pieces to give it some weight to keep it submerged. It also comes with a watermelon ball that you inflate with water (or air if you want) and the needle to fill the ball with an adapter piece that you can connect the needle to the adapter to the hose to fill with the watermelon ball with water. The watermelon ball is smaller than a basketball. But it is very thick and sturdy--it would be pretty hard to puncture it. It has taken a lot of abuse from my kids and is still functional. My kids had fun playing with the set in the pool and that's just what I hoped it would do.

Melon Madness Sports Challenge is a very fun and unique water sport game. In short, it's an underwater ball filled with just enough water to add bouyancy to allow it to be bounced, passed, and tossed while swimming underwater in a swimming pool. Melon Madness Sports Challenge ball and hoop set can be used to play basketball, dodgeball, or even to create unique underwater obstacle courses. It comes with a nine inch ball that you add water to, along with a filling needle and hose adapter, and a twenty-two inch weighted hoop. So far, we've only used it in our hot tub, but it was a blast just playing catch and chase with it. We also took turns seeing how many hoop targets we can get. We can't wait to take it on vacation to try out in the HEATED pool available there. I know this will be a daily favorite once the hot weather months return soon as well. I found it interesting to learn that college students discovered that actual watermelons had bouyancy in swimming pools, and used them to invent and play water games. The water play toy set is suggested for ages five and up. I like that Melon Madness Sports Challenge seems sturdily made of vinyl to last for lots of tossing, bouncing, passing, and splashing fun. It is really a fun and unique way to add more active water play for the whole family. We love it!
