Over all very good for beginners and pros alike.

Programming it definitely requires pacients but can be done manually. I recommend doing via software like freescan. The included speaker is your typical CB speaker. Sounds aweful and very tinny. You would have thought someone by now (considering this scanner hasn't changed since 2009) would have figured out to mount the speaker on top. It works great and the service options are excellent. Changing the antenna to a sturdier one would benefit this greatly. Over all though Id highly recommend this scanner.
