To me this tastes exactly like reconstituted chicken broth powder, and better than some. The salt content is moderated by the flavorful MSG. It makes a slightly cloudy broth with flecks of green herbs. When these cubes remain fresh, they crumble easily into a cup and dissolve fast with little or no stirring needed. I will store mine in a small glass jar. The percentage of vegetable content is low, les than 2% of things like onion and spices. These products enhance the flavor of rice or pasta when you add one to the pot while cooking.

I used these in the spice packets I attached to the one pint bean soup jars I made. This time of year I like to have a little gift made up to bring if I'm invited to go somewhere. I used the Maggi Vegetable Bouillon cubes because it can be a meatless meal then, getting one 1 lb package of each of these 7 dried beans and peas I was able to make 9 jars. Each package cost just over a dollar (Great Value brand) and the spices with bouillon cubes probably averaged under 50 cents a jar (dried onion, parsley, granulated garlic, basil, and 4 of the cubes. This is a VERY attractive gift and I had a stock of the 14.5 oz cans of diced tomatoes that helps to complete the recipe so I gift one of those too (got a case of them a while back on sale) so yes, these are wonderful stock cubes I did unwrap them to put into the spice packs and ties a ribbon around the top. These cubes smell WONDERFUL and the taste is really good, not too salty as some can be and packed with flavor. I plan on making another batch of these to have on hand for quick and easy holiday gifts in a family basket, with a cornbread mix and maybe an apple cider or something

These Maggi Vegetable Bouillon Cubes are the very best! They have a great flavor, much better than most I’ve tried. I can crush them in my fingers so that the crumbles can be distributed evenly instead of the whole cube placed in one spot, hoping the flavor will reach all the food. My favorite food to use these is my greens (collards, kale, or a mixture of them). Per each 16 oz bag, I put some ham steaks cubed, two Maggi Vegetable Bouillon cubes, black pepper, and a little sugar. I bought 4 boxes to last. Best stuff!!
